Beginning of the online gambling
The history of online gambling began in 1994 when the governing body of Antigua Barbuda passed the “Free Trade and Processing Zone” act according to which a person or company which were interested to start an internet casino were authorized to do so by applying for gaming licenses. However, there were no software providers at that time to achieve the possibilities of online gambling. This problem was solved soon after Microgaming appeared in the market, followed by CryptoLogic in the same year.
The 1st casino became available to players across the world in 1996. The years of 1996-1998 indicated expansion outclassing in the online gaming industry. This was due to several facts such as the advancement in technology, the speed of software development and the increase of the number of online casinos.
